Methodology — how we review eToro, Bitpanda and alternatives
Our review method: product type (asset vs CFD), fees, safety, regulation basics, withdrawals, and a small-test checklist before you deposit.
The site’s goal is simple: help readers avoid costly mistakes before depositing meaningful money on a platform.
We don’t publish market signals. We focus on:
- what you’re actually buying (asset vs CFD, leverage, restrictions)
- what it costs (fees + spreads + FX conversion)
- what can block you (withdrawals, KYC, country limits)
- what can go wrong (product risk, platform risk, user risk)
“Before you deposit” checklist
Before you scale, verify:
- Product type: real asset, CFD, or a mix depending on country/account settings.
- Fees: deposit/withdrawal, FX conversion, spreads, inactivity, custody.
- Withdrawals: delay, method, fees, documents, min/max.
- KYC & country rules: restrictions, unavailable assets, leverage limits.
- Security: 2FA, alerts, protections, incident history (when public).
- Transparency: accessible docs, clear risk warnings, reachable support.
What we test (when possible)
When possible, we prefer a small “real-life” test:
- create account + enable 2FA
- make a small deposit, then a small withdrawal
- compare announced vs observed friction (KYC, delays, fees)
Results vary by country, currency and payment method. We call it out when known.
Updates
We update pages when:
- pricing/terms change
- a major feature changes (copy features, safety, withdrawals)
- an info change could lead to a bad decision
Update dates are shown at the top of pages.
